Android

  1. Open Phone Settings.
  2. Select Location → Location services → Timeline.
  3. Select Export Timeline data, then Continue.
  4. Save Timeline.json somewhere easy to find, such as Downloads.

The export is in your phone’s Settings app, not in Google Maps. Names and menu locations can vary by phone.

iPhone

  1. Open Google Maps → profile picture → Settings.
  2. Select Personal content → Export Timeline data.
  3. Save Timeline.json in Files, then choose it here.

The exported JSON can be used directly in this web app. You can also move it to an Android phone.
